Lady in the Park

This is a drawing of my favorite lady that sits in Rittenhouse Square. She always wears Chanel flats, enormous chic glasses and smokes out of a long cigarette holder.

Gobble Wobble...and more resort prints!

Wearing my print at the 3rd Annual Gobble Wobble in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The Gobble Wobble is a fundraiser put on the Friday after Thanksgiving every year to benefit a local Detroit Charity. Anne Carney (left) and Liz Vollman (right) were two of the hostesses. I was part of the original committee two years ago and sadly am not involved anymore as I live in Philadelphia. However, with the help of the Lilly Somerset shop, Lilly Pulitzer donated a bunch of goodies and a gift certificate for the raffle.

In the Slim

"Originals" are finally here. This is a collection of garments that embody the fun of Lilly Pulitzer. I was like a kid in a candy shop when I first saw them in stores. I told my co-worker "They look so good I want to eat them" and he responded "They are calorie free!" They are classics, pieces that you can wear forever and pass on. They are all about print. I designed the "In the Slim" print shown here, it is one of my first prints offered in dresses, pants, skirts and accessories. It is SOO fun to see people wearing it!

having a ball

My friend Nini and I are having a Halloween party and I am VERY excited about it. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because you can have so much fun with it and just be silly. Above is the invite I illustrated, Nini wrote the cute poem. I'm still debating what to be, any ideas?

Time Flies

I love our Lilly stationary...and my "Trouble" print is featured here on this 2010 agenda. The inside has a different print for each month and wonderful little details throughout. "Trouble" is also on a frame, magnetic board, travel mug, note pads, stationary and will come in children's clothes this resort season.

My First Lilly Print

Here is my first design to be sold in stores since I have worked at LP. It is an exclusive toile we did for Bloomingdale's in NYC featuring different scenes on the "Little Island." It comes in a tunic for ladies and children, I can't wait to spot someone sporting it!

A Virginia Weekend

I had the nicest weekend in beautiful Virginia after a print event in Richmond with fellow print designer and friend Torie Davis.  Highlights were the Jefferson Hotel, Historic Williamsburg and visiting UVA in Charlottesville.

Bloomie's WIndows!!!

It is a little hard to see, but the tiny lemonade stand in the Bloomingdale's window is a blown up illustration of mine!  I am soo happy that Lilly is in the windows and looking SO COOL.

I'm off to Richmond with fellow print designer Torie Davis tomorrow.  We are painting at the Lilly store for an event and then exploring the city.  I am looking forward to experiencing Richmond, I hear it is so charming!  We are staying at the Jefferson which looks amazing!  I will update soon!

My Illustration for Lilly on Martha

The Martha Stewart show did an entire show based on Lilly Pulitzer and Palm Beach style.  The models from our fashion show are pictured above with Martha.

Palm Beach Gardens

This is the very early stages of one of the dressing rooms of the Lilly Pulitzer store that just opened in the Palm Beach Gardens mall today.  The final product looks amazing with real birdcages hanging, pink cushions with white piping on the bench, Lilly printed pillows and bright green carpeting.

Here is one of my illustrations I did for the layout of the Palm Beach Gardens store entrance.  It was fun to see it come to life!

Don't feed the animals (or designers)

Lilly Pulitzer is going to be on Martha Stewart tomorrow and to celebrate we are throwing a party in the Madison Ave store.  All of the print designers will be painting on site.   I haven't seen it in person yet but the idea is that two designers will be painting in the window as a sort of live art while making art.  This should be interesting...

Lilly Print Event at C.Orrico

I had the most wonderful time painting at C.Orrico in Palm Beach last weekend.  All of the Orrico sisters are so much fun and had a keg and hot dogs grilling for customers all day.  The Lilly lovers I met were amazing and told me all about their prized pieces.  Lilly Pulitzer dropped by which was of course a highlight.  Torie and I painted from 11 am to 7:30pm...we went through at least 50 paintings! Stay tuned for the next print event...The Martha Stewart Show!!

Post Cards

I think this painting is so charming.  My Aunt Heidi sent me a post card of it from the Toledo Museum of Art.  It's titled "After the Meeting" and is by Cecilia Beaux.  Heidi is so cute, she wrote "Somehow I like the combo of this chintzy chair and black stripe!" I totally agree with her!

If i designed outerwear...

Every once in a while I wish I was a fashion designer, mostly so I could design things for myself and then go back to painting and designing prints.  I wish someone could make the above cape for me in navy blue cashmere...

A snowy morning in Rittenhouse Square...

It was so nice to walk through the park covered in snow the other morning.  I love that there was already a snowman made at 8 am.

SAVE THE DATE

My sister Shaw is getting married this year and I couldn't be happier for her and Will!  Here is the save the date card that I illustrated for them.

The Philadelphia Story

Have you seen "The Philadelphia Story?" I watched this movie when I first moved to Philadelphia and fell in love with it.  It's beautiful to watch and has the most amazing cast.

being a lilly lover...

In front of one of my favorite shops, I could spend hours in here...

Shopping on Worth Ave.

In Lilly's "Jungle"

The Colony Hotel

I feel so lucky to be working as a print designer for Lilly Pulitzer.  We have so much fun every day! There is no other place like "the pink palace" (how we lovingly refer to the office which is in fact pink).  One of my favorite parts about my job is going on inspiration trips to Palm Beach.  Above are pictures from our last trip.  I will be going down again next week to paint for an event at C. Orrico on Valentine's Day!
